Chinese media says to pray for her.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi confirmed she will be visiting Taiwan and meeting with government officials this week. However, a Chinese media commentator stated, “Let her go to Taiwan. But pray before her departure: wish herself a safe journey and wish herself not be defined by history as a sinner who starts a spiral of escalation process expanding military frictions to a large-scale war in the Taiwan Strait.”
The same commentator previously suggested that China shoot down the speaker’s plane if she goes to Taiwan.
While certain details remain undetermined, the House speaker is expected to go to Taiwan following her current stop in Singapore. She is reported to have planned meetings with Taiwanese officials and others on Tuesday evening and Wednesday.
“China will take resolute and strong measures to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. As for what measures exactly we will take, let’s wait and see if she dares making the visit,” a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said about the possibility of Speaker Pelosi going to Taiwan.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For safe travels for Speaker Pelosi as she tours Asia and stops in Taiwan.
- For wisdom for U.S. foreign affairs officials as the speaker proceeds to Taiwan.
- For discernment for U.S. diplomats and military heads as they evaluate the threats of the Chinese.
